 An introduction to modern calligraphy in a 1-on-1 setting with myself. In this two hour lesson, you will learn how to use a pointed pen (with nib and ink) to construct strokes and shapes, letter-forms and words, along with basic tools for composition and overall design and structure. No experience required. Private calligraphy lessons are offered in-person only at a public location in PEC / Bay of Quinte.

After this 2 hour lesson, you will be able to:

- hold a pointed pen and effectively apply / release pressure

- construct upper and lower case letters of the alphabet inspired by my signature lettering style

- string letters and words together

- show an understanding in basic flourishes and stylistic techniques

You will be provided with a kit that including a practice calligraphy pad, a pointed pen, nib, and ink. Come empty handed!

An introduction to digitizing artwork in a 1-on-1 setting with myself. In this two hour lesson, you will learn how to take your original artwork and digitize it into digital, vector form. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator required (a basic understanding of how to operate both programs is beneficial but not required). Private digitizing lessons are offered in-person in-person at a public location in PEC / Bay of Quinte or online via Google Hangouts (using video chat and screen share).

After this 2 hour lesson, you will be able to:

- scan original artwork (calligraphy, watercolour, etc.) to reproduce copies or share on online platforms

- digitize artwork into a vector file or high res raster image using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (remove background, colour correct, correct exposure, sharpen, etc.)

- export the artwork as various file formats

You will be provided with a digital step by step guide to digitizing artwork (PDF)

An introduction to watercolour in a 1-on-1 setting with myself. In this two hour lesson, you will learn the basics of watercolour materials and techniques. No experience required. Private watercolour lessons are offered in-person only at a public location in PEC / Bay of Quinte.

After this 2 hour lesson, you will be able to:

-show an understanding of colour theory and how to mix colours

- how to incorporate techniques to achieve blending and basic shapes

- how to use watercolour pigment for shadows and highlights to create depth

- paint a basic floral or botanical watercolour image

You will be provided with a kit at your lesson that includes an introduction to watercolour booklet, a palette with a tray of 7 paint colours, a brush, and paper.
