THE PROCESS

No. 1 VIRTUAL COFFEE DATE

Let’s get to know each other! We will chat about your style, your goals for the business, your vision for the brand, and how I will help with the whole process.

 

No. 2 WELCOME!

I’ll welcome you into my workflow. You’ll be asked to sign a custom design contract which protects your rights as a client, and mine as a designer. An initial payment of 50% is required once your contract is signed, and the remainder is due upon project completion.

 

No. 3 HOMEWORK

Yep, you read that right- you’ll have a little bit of homework to do. Getting to know you and your business is crucial to the success of creating a beautiful new brand. The process of designing your brand begins with a detailed questionnaire which will help me gain clarity and narrow your brand style.  During this time I will also be doing my own market research on your business and the industry you're in.

 

No. 4 VISION BOARD

Based on the details from your questionnaire, I will curate a vision board for your new brand. The vision board will feature your colour palette and carefully chosen images to serve as inspiration for your new brand. Your approval will be required to move forward.

 

No. 5 PRIMARY LOGO CREATION

The magic starts! I’ll get to work on building your new primary logo, and keep you updated throughout the process. Typically one option will be shown, and we will work through two rounds of edits to get it exactly how you want it. Please know an hourly design rate of $60 will be applied if more than two revision rounds are required. Your approval will be required to move forward.

 

No. 5 SECONDARY LOGO CREATION

Once we settle on the primary logo, I’ll get to work on the secondary version. This version is typically used for watermarks, icons, collateral, etc. Your approval will be required to move forward.

 

No. 6 BUSINESS CARD DESIGN

I’ll complete the design for your business cards. This will include designs for up to 5 employees cards, if you require more, you will be charged an additional hourly graphic design rate. Print fees are additional. Your approval will be required to move forward.

 

No. 7 BRAND DISCOVERY BOARD

Yay! The design process has been completed and I’ll celebrate this by providing a polished discovery board for your new brand. The discovery board is a single sheet featuring your new primary and secondary logos, your colour palette, and the fonts.  

 

No. 8 SEND-OFF

Your outstanding payment + HST will be due, and then I’ll send over all the final files (including JPGs, PNGs, vectors, and if possible all the reverse versions for use on dark backgrounds).

FAQ

 WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR BRANDING SERVICES?

I will provide a projected timeline after we have our initial consultation. Turnaround times depends on my current workload, the complexity of your project, and response times (revisions, content, etc.) Having said that, full brand projects can take 8-10 weeks, and partial brand projects can take 6-8 weeks. Rush services are available at an additional cost if necessary.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES + METHODS?

Payment for services is submitted through an invoice and paid via PayPal or e-transfer. All branding project payments are due in two parts, a 50% non-refundable initial payment is due prior to beginning and to hold your spot in the queue. The second half of the project payment is delivered at project completion before final files are delivered.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT SATISFIED?

At the beginning of the design process, I do a consultation with you to make sure our styles are on the same page and we will be able to collaborate together to create your brand. When you purchase a package you will pay a 50% non-refundable initial payment, so if you feel we are not creating the design and look you wanted to achieve you will not be required to pay the remaining balance. This has never happened and I'll do my best to make sure we are a perfect fit!
